Stay Safe While You Trick-or-Treat!
Stay Safe While You Trick-or-Treat!
It’s that time of the year again! Are your costumes ready? Before you know it, it’ll be Halloween night and you’ll be stepping out to bring in your annual stash of goodies! In the middle of all the fun, though, don’t forget how important it is to stay safe. Here are some things you should remember before, during and after your trick-or-treating:
- Make sure your costume isn’t too long for you. You don’t want to trip-or-fall!
- Use face paint instead of a mask, so you can see better.
- Wear bright clothes, or use reflective material on dark clothes so that people will be able to see you in the dark.
- Follow all traffic rules while you’re out. Always look both ways before crossing streets.
- Carry a flashlight with you.
- Only go to homes with the front light on, or with decorated front yards.
- Accept sweets at the door – never step into a stranger’s house.
- Do not accept rides from strangers.
- After you’ve collected your booty, make sure not to eat opened candy.
- Let your parent look through your candy before you settle down for the feast.
And of course, have lots of fun!
