We have new recipes to try if you dare!
To keep with the theme we’ll start out at “D”.
Followed by “E”, continue cooking alphabetically!
Can’t wait to get started and kick off the fun,
The rhyming and cooking has now begun.
Delicious Apple Doughnuts
These little rings are heaven on earth,
Melt in your mouth with a flavor burst!
Can hardly wait for the first batch to cool,
The heavenly aroma makes you drool!
What you need:
- 1 ½ cups sifted flour
- 1 ¾ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- ½ cup sugar
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 egg, beaten
- ¼ cup milk
- ½ cup apple, grated
- ½ cup butter, melted
- Cinnamon sugar to taste
What to do:
- Preheat oven to 350° F
- Mix flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, sugar together
- Cut in shortening
- Carefully mix in the egg, milk, and apples
- Pour mixture into a greased muffin pan or doughnut baking pan 2/3 full
- Bake for 20-25 minutes
- Roll the warm doughnuts around in cinnamon sugar
Eggs in a basket
A breakfast treat that’s cute and sweet,
A family favorite that everyone will eat.
So rise and shine, and grab a plate,
Smells so good I can hardly wait!
What you need:
- Sliced bread of any kind
- Eggs
- Small cup or circle cookie cutter
- Butter
What to do:
- Take a slice of bread and lightly butter both sides
- Use the cup or cookie cutter to cut a circle shape hole in the middle of the bread
- Lay the buttered bread in a hot frying pan or skillet
- Once the bread has had a chance to get lightly toasted break the egg into the middle of the hole( You can also cook the circle cut outs of the bread. They are great to dip into the egg yolk)
- Wait for the egg to cook on one side, flip over the entire piece of bread and the egg in the middle.
- Enjoy
Fabulous Fudge
Funky and fun this fudge is the best,
Beating competitors that come to the test!
It packs a punch in flavor and taste,
Hurry; make it now, there’s no time to waste!
What you need:
- 3 cups of sugar
- ½ cup butter, don’t use margarine
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 7 oz. jar of marshmallow cream
- 1 ¼ cups of peanut butter, smooth or chunky
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
What to do:
- Mix sugar, butter and evaporated milk in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil
- Turn heat down to medium and cook for five minutes, stirring continuously
- Add in marshmallow, peanut butter, vanilla, and nutsStir thoroughly to ensure everything is mixed well.
- Pour into a buttered dish and let cool before slicing.
- Store in fridge to keep fresh
